Sustainability Set for Sizzling Topic at NYPS

At the New York Produce Show, Wednesday, December 6, during the Industry Insights Educational Sessions, the 2:30 p.m. topic is Sustainability In Action. Discussing this opportune topic is essential as all segments of the produce industry work together in taking necessary actions to enable future generations the ability to take care of themselves.

In the quest to explore ways to increase produce consumption, this panel will explore Sustainability in the context of importing, packaging, farming, distribution, and retail community outreach/giving.

This session brings together Steven Jennings, Stakeholder Relations/Brand Lead, Health & Sustainability, Giant Foods; John E. Paap, Manager, Jac. Vandenberg, Inc.; Stevie Shandler Maier, Business Development & Sustainability Director, Shapiro-Gilman-Shandler Co. | Grubmarket Inc., and Tara Smith-Vighetti, President, Smith Farm Sales. Moderating the panel is Jill Overdorf, Founder, The Produce Ambassador.

Now in its 14th year, the NYPS, hosted by the Eastern Produce Council and Produce Business, welcomes show attendees to join the various educational sessions held on the show floor in the stage area designated for Industry Insights. Imperative industry topics such as Sustainability, Distribution, Indoor Grown Produce and more are being discussed during these sessions.

The NYPS is being held at the Jacob Javits Convention Center from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., December 6th in New York City.
